Art Prize
You caught Art Prize just in time! It ends on this weekend. Art Prize is when the whole city of Grand Rapids turns into a major art show. Lots of museums, hotels, restaurants, churches, bars, and streets have special art in them. I recommend going to Gerald R. Ford Museum, Devos Center, Amway Hotel, or The Bob to see art!
Grand Rapids Public Museum
Located downtown, they compensate parking. It is fun to walk around and learn about Grand Rapids history.
John Ball Zoo
Our first date! About a 15 minute drive from the Canopy hotel.
Chihuly at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park
Outdoor and indoor exhibit featuring Chihuly glass. We saw this in Seattle and it was amazing!
Big Mini's
About a block away from the Rutledge. It has putt putt, bar, board games, and bar games.
Celebration Cinema Studio Park
Connected to the Canopy Hotel, comfy reclining seats perfect for a movie
Blue Dog Tavern
Local bar right down the street from the church, also known for their tots.
Monarchs' Corner Bar
Small local bar located right down the street from the church. They have board games and pool.
Butcher's Union
One of Kathryn's favorite restaurants/bars. Their whiskey sangria is the best! There are also many other bars on this street to hop around.
Knoop Rooftop Cocktail Lounge
Located on the top floor of the Canopy Hotel. Great city rooftop vibes!
Lucy's
Great brunch spot! Go to Yelp app to get on the waitlist.
San Chez A Tapas Bistro
Great brunch spot! 5 minute drive from hotel and 10 minute walk downtown.
Grand Haven State Park
If you have time, a drive out to Lake Michigan is a must if you haven't seen before. It takes about an hour drive. It's a beautiful drive out.
