Things To Do

We absolutely love New York City, and we’re thrilled to share this amazing place with all of you. For those traveling from out of town, we hope you take full advantage of the trip and experience some of our favorite spots. Below, you’ll find a mix of our top recommendations—from parks and bars to all kinds of delicious food. If it’s your first time in NYC, don’t be afraid to embrace the touristy stuff too, even if it’s not on this list. We’d love to take everyone around for a week and show you everything, but this guide should cover the highlights.

Prospect Park

Brooklyn, NY

This is where we had our first date. Take a beautiful walk among baby strollers, angry bikers, suspected dogs killers and a host of other characters NYC has to offer.

The Green-Wood Cemetery

500 25th Street, Greenwood Heights, NY 11232

Greenwood is a great spot to escape the noise and chaos of the city. You can peacefully get lost for hours and get great ideas for tombstones.

Yankee Stadium

1 East 161st Street, Concourse, NY 10451

So, the Yankees will actually be in LA this weekend for a three-game series against the god-forsaken Dodgers. Kyle still wanted to throw this out there as a recommendation because, honestly, Yankee Stadium feels like a second home to him.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn, NY 11238

Another great spot to escape the chaos of the city. We've had a lot of great dates here and some that were just okay.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

New York, NY 11201

If you’re looking for a different spot to stroll and people-watch, this park is right on the water and offers fantastic views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. For a longer walking tour, start at Pier 6, walk the length of the park, then head up and cross the Brooklyn Bridge. From there, make your way to Chinatown for some delicious, budget-friendly eats

Sunset Park

Sunset Park, NY

Sunset Park is a cool neighborhood in Brooklyn with really great Chinese and Latino food. It also has a park, aptly named Sunset Park, that has amazing views of Manhattan. It's a great spot if you're looking to get away from crowds and tourists and be around everyday New Yorkers. As the name suggests, it also showcases amazing sunsets.

Ivan Ramen

25 Clinton Street, New York, NY 10002

If you’ve ever visited Kyle in the city, chances are he has taken you here. This was Kyle’s first stop every time he landed in NYC, and it’s the restaurant he’s eaten at more than any other. If you can, grab a seat at the counter and soak in the atmosphere—it’s all part of the experience.

Dirty Precious

317 3rd Avenue, Gowanus, NY 11215

This place has amazing cocktails and a great atmosphere.

Blueprint

196 5th Avenue, Park Slope, NY 11217

Another great spot for food and cocktails.

Fried Dumpling

106 Mosco Street, New York, NY 10013

Delicious and cheap dumplings. A great excuse to go to Chinatown.

Jongro BBQ

22 West 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001

Korean BBQ is our go to when we have friends visiting. It's a fun experience, the food is fantastic, and you can explore K-town in Manhattan.

Giuseppina's

691 6th Avenue, Sunset Park, NY 11215

This spot has great, no-frills brick oven pizza. Good for a sit down dinner, not for slices.

Tacos El Bronco

4324 4th Avenue, Sunset Park, NY 11232

Excellent taco spot in Sunset Park. At the 4th ave location you can have a sit down meal complete with chips and salsa and great hot sauces. If you're out an about, there is a food truck on 5th avenue, which I've heard is even better. It's also close to the park, so you can eat tacos as the sun sets.
