Our Beginning

In a world where meeting someone in the grocery store is a time of the past, Julia & Kyle had both ventured into trying to meet someone online. Since they were both single, cheap, and refusing to pay for a dating site, they went the free route and their love was kindled on OkCupid. In November of 2014, Kyle messaged Julia for the first time, impressing her with his witty message. For months Julia and Kyle conversed back and forth, getting to know each other through email. It wasn't until New Years Eve of 2015 that Julia & Kyle exchanged phone numbers and they spent the evening texting each other into the new year. On January 14, 2015, Kyle took Julia on their first date - wings and wine at Lancaster Dispensing Co. in the city. The night was filled with good conversation and lots of laughs - especially since Julia made a mess, spilled wine on herself, and had wing sauce on her face most of the evening. To make her feel more at ease, Kyle smeared wing sauce on his nose so that he too looked ridiculous. This is pretty much the moment Julia knew that this guy was different.

Our Adventure

Over the past five years Julia & Kyle have had many adventures. Since both came from such different backgrounds (country boy & city girl) they opened each other's eyes to new experiences. From off-roading, hunting, fishing & all things nature; to art, fashion, culture, gourmet food & fancy cheese - they have broadened each other’s lives in many ways. The common bond that grounded them was music & theatre. Music was so prevalent in both of their upbringings and something that will always remain a huge part of their lives. Kyle plays the piano, Julia sings, and both are active in the arts community serving on the Board of Directors for the Marietta Center for the Arts and performing in community theatre productions.

Our Future

On July 5, 2019 Kyle asked for Julia’s hand in marriage while at the beach. Some would say “it’s about time”, but it was the perfect time for them! In classic Kyle style, he waited until the very end of vacation and surprised everyone with a proposal on the beach in front of Julia’s entire family. No one knew it was coming except for her father and brother, who was able to get the entire moment on film!

Our Promise

The most important thing in relationships is realizing that nothing is ever perfect. Love takes work, faith, commitment, and compromise. Our promise to each other each day is to never forget that. The last five years have been filled with many incredible things - the good, the bad, lots of laughter, love, true friendship, respect, and all that is in between. We are so excited to start our future, begin our family, and build our lives together.
