June 1
Our wedding ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. For our guests staying at the DoubleTree Suites, if we end up getting a shuttle, we will aim to have it arrive around 20 minutes early. For our other guests, we suggest planning to arrive around 5:30 - 5:45 to give the valet a chance to park your car.
We ask that you wear what you will feel comfortable in the August Michigan heat! It may be 80+ degrees around 6pm but should cool down to around 70 as the evening goes on. We're suggesting "garden attire" and 70s/festival attire is encouraged!
We will be providing a variety of alcohol between 7 - 10pm during our wedding reception, but we encourage everyone to drink responsibly (we are requesting three drinks max) as not everyone attending our wedding shares the same views on alcohol. Also consider that Ubers/Lyfts will be tough to find from our wedding venue, and the roads can be tricky to navigate, and deer may be present. We will also have a variety of nonalcoholic drinks available. After drinks are served, we will welcome our guests to join us for a bonfire!
We were originally planning to provide a shuttle for our guests staying at the DoubleTree Suites on 28th St. -- shuttle would take them from there to our venue. However, there does not seem to be much demand for this. If you have already told us you would like to take the shuttle we will make sure you can access a rental car. Please let us know if you are interested in a shuttle and we will end up getting one if enough people need it.
Yes, Lyfts/Ubers are very prevalent within the city of Grand Rapids, so if you are staying at the DoubleTree Suites, it should be easy to explore the city. But the availability of them to and from our wedding location will be sparse, so consider renting a car. Depending on demand we may rent a shuttle from the hotel to our venue. Please let us know if you would want this
We will be having a buffet-style taco bar with options for those with a variety of dietary needs, but please let us know when RSVP-ing if you are particularly concerned about a certain food item. We will also have dessert with gluten free and vegan options.
Juliana's dad is a medical doctor and of course encourages everyone to be up-to-date on vaccines when attending the wedding. This will provide the safest environment for all our guests. However, we cannot guarantee that everyone is vaccinated, and we are grateful that our venue will be outdoors with plenty of fresh air and space between guests.
