Back in 2016, Jess and Kyle spent many weekday mornings sitting across from each other in a meeting room at Eli Lilly. Jess was late (shocking), and Kyle was just trying to survive after working all night. Eye contact was made, social media stalking commenced, but life eventually pulled them in separate directions. After a few years living out west, Jess moved back and attempted to slide into Kyle’s Instagram DMs. Unfortunately, Kyle completely missed the hint, and once again, time passed. Then they matched on a dating app, and Kyle finally realized Jess had, in fact, been flirting with him on Instagram. They exchanged numbers, went on a few dates, and then Kyle — “like an adult” — ghosted Jess. About a year later, on her way to work, Jess received a long text from an unsaved number. After a quick Google search and a few context clues, she realized it was Kyle. Jess already knew there was something special about him, and the message was, according to Kyle, “really good.” A little more chatting led to a second first date at the exact same spot as the first first date… and the rest is history.
