Our first date was at The Gelato Spot. After talking for what felt like hours, the restaurant closed down and we were pushed to the street where we spent another 30 minutes talking on the empty patio. Pretty much from that day on it was a sealed deal. I’ve never felt more comfortable with another soul in my life.
One week before Thanksgiving (the day where both our families would meet and I was most definitely expecting a proposal) he asked if I wanted our usual date night to be spent at the Chinese paper lantern festival that was going on in the desert. I had thought “this would be a romantic setting to proposal” but again, I thought it was all going down the following week so didn’t give too much thought. Kyle invited our mutual friends to come along. As Kyle and our friend Kate lit his lantern he turned his lantern around which read “Bowl-Face Lil Coop (inside joke) Will you marry me?”. After I read his lantern, he lightly threw the lantern down hoping for it to float which actually nearly caused a grassfire, his eyes full of tears he got down on his knee and popped the question. After that I swear I blacked out - but here we are!
