Our Story

Kyles Version: We officially started dating in the summer of 2022 but our story started long before. This crowd knows 4-H contests, FFA events, and stock shows were and are still a big part of our lives. As kids we always had a crush on one another (most of the flirting happened in the show barns) but were both too afraid to make a move. However, as we got older Kyle started to build up some courage and Kyle made some valiant attempts to win over Holly, but was turned down despite how smooth and charming he was (Holly was mainly worried about the distance FYI…). Once we finally both had Blinn in our sights, Kyle took one more shot and the plane landed! Holly was swept away by his good looks, great physique and smooth talk. Though she was hesitant to have such a hunk on her hands, she was filled with joy when he finally proposed during their tenure at Texas A&M! And they lived happily ever after… Holly’s Version: It’s crazy to look back and see how life unfolded and how God had His hand in our story from the very beginning. Growing up, we were always crossing paths at stock shows, camps, and 4-H and FFA events. Looking back now, the flirting started early… even if I tried my best to deny it at the time. My mom used to always say, “There are only a few people on this earth we approve of, and one of them is Kyle.” Of course, my response was always, “Mommmm, no.” Funny how things work out, because now, I couldn’t be more excited to spend forever with Mr. Kyle Real. We didn’t officially start dating until the summer before I headed to Blinn, but from there, life just seemed to line up perfectly. We both judged livestock at Blinn College, spent a summer together in West Lafayette, Indiana, interning with the National Swine Registry, and then continued on to Texas A&M University, where we both graduated with agricultural degrees (WHOOP!). Somewhere between the judging trips, days in the pig barn, and all the miles in between, Kyle became more than just someone I flirted with at stock shows, he became my best friend and the person I couldn’t imagine doing life without! Today, we share a love for agriculture, raising show pigs, spending time with our friends and family, and living out our faith together. We truly believe God brought us together at just the right time, in just the right way—and we can’t wait to continue this journey as husband and wife.
