Kyle and I always talked about getting engaged in early 2023. We started looking at rings around September of 2022, then seriously trying to decide on a jeweler in that December. We found the perfect setting at Carroll Ochs, then the rest of the plan was up to Kyle. He made the purchase sometime in February of 2023. We traveled to my family's cabin in Brethren, MI for a weekend of snowmobiling with his brother, Drew, and our friend, Caleb. Kyle knew that I had suspicions that he would be proposing, so he did everything he could to throw me off of his tracks. I cried Thursday night because I thought I had gotten my hopes up so high! We rode the sleds for most of the day Friday, then Saturday the boys went riding and I relaxed at the cabin for the day. Kyle had told me he was taking me out for a nice date on Saturday night, so I got ready and tried to not get my hopes up any higher. We went to dinner at Bluefish in Manistee, followed by playing some games at Little River Casino. What I didn't know was that while we were gone, Drew and Caleb hadn't left like they told me they were. They were setting up the scene. When we got back from the casino, Kyle opened the truck door for me. He grabbed my hand and walked me just past the fire pit. He got on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said YES!
