Gen and Kyle both had huge weddings the first go around with all the bells and whistles and arrangements and such. Neither of us need that again. We're happy that you're here with us in our special place at Schweitzer, that's enough for us. Gen and Kyle are both planners, and if the lovebirds have to make a million decisions and pick a color theme for table arrangements, they will both vomit on the chairlift.
We suggest you stay on the mountain as it will be most convenient and we love the mountain vibe. There are a ton of condos available to rent, almost all are a reasonable walk to the village. However, if you want to stay in Sandpoint, or on the lake, more power to you it will just involve more driving. No, we aren't making arrangements but do encourage folks to book early. This is a very popular weekend and units will fill up. Airbnb and VRBO are your friend and there are also a couple properties managed by Schweitzer in the village.
Yes, the top. After getting up to the mountain village, you'll walk through the festival towards a 4 seater chairlift called the Great Escape. You WILL need a scenic lift pass to be able to ride the chair, unless you want to boss out and hike, run, mtn bike to the top. Just easy on the sweaty hugs, ok. https://www.schweitzer.com/plan/summer-scenic-lift-ticket/
Google it. The mountain village is about 20 minutes from downtown Sandpoint, ID. Sandpoint is 75 miles NE of Spokane.
Check the link: https://www.schweitzer.com/event/fall-fest-2024/ Fall Fest is the end of summer season festival at Schweitzer Mtn. It runs for 4 days, Fri-Mon, and is a grand ol' hootenanny. Live music all day, beverage garden with over 80 beers, seltzers, wines and ciders, crafty vendors, food trucks, chairlift rides, kids activities, and all the outdoor fun the mountain has to offer. In typical festival fashion, they'll even sell you a $30 pint glass you are required to use if beer/wine tasting. There will be a lot of folks there and the mountain will be busy (again, get lodging early). Think of it as Schweitzer throwing us a 4 day wedding party/reception with a few thousand people you don't know. It's a fun and loose time, even dogs are welcome! It's one of Khione's favorite weekends. We recommend a sweaty outing in the morning, clean up, grab a bite, and enjoy some sunshine and beverages while enjoying friends and live music in the afternoon. Chairlift rides with a beer is a personal favorite, just don't drop a flip flop.
Nope! If you haven't figured it out yet, this is the most informal of weddings. We are very excited if you decide to come, and if so just show up! There is not a formal reception after the ceremony, but plenty of time to hang out with our gracious friends and family at the festival. It's a fun family weekend so bring your kids, maybe a bike, or a dog, and enjoy this mountain that is our happiest of places.
Very! Fall Fest at Schweitzer is dog friendly and a favorite of our puppers. Dogs are welcome in the village during the festival and of course on any of the wonderful trails on the mountain. The only place dogs are not allowed is on the chairlift, so if you were going to bring your 4 legger to the ceremony on top of the mountain you'll have to get there on foot/bike.
