Kyle and Dominique met through mutual friends the summer after high school. After a few texts and a few dates, the rest is history!

Kyle proposed on our 4 year anniversary (August 7) at the same beach we had our first date. I spent the morning at a college cohort meeting discussing different first month activities we could do with our students when we started teaching. Kyle and I already had plans to have dinner that evening at our favorite restaurant in Solomon's Island. Right before we left for our dinner date, my mom took a picture of us. On the way to dinner Kyle thinks I see the ring in his pocket and proceeds to distract me with conversation. (This whole time I had no idea what was going on. I didn't even see the ring box in his pocket!) After dinner I asked if he wanted to get ice cream at Rita's (our favorite) and he said he would rather go to the beach to watch the sunset. When we got to the beach the sun was setting fast and it was getting dark. Meanwhile the tide was high and much of the beach was engulfed in waves. As we looked at the sunset, he popped the question! I cried and was in disbelief! My mom met us at the beach as we were walking back and we recreated our proposal. After we got home, we called all of our friends and loved ones to tell them the amazing news.
