Midwest meets East Coast

Kyle was on an east coast tour with his band, Tracings, and they needed a place to stay while traveling through Pennsylvania. Kyle's bandmate, Tyler Rayburn (who is also our wedding photographer), is friends with Chelsea who lives in York, PA. Tyler asked Chelsea if the band could stay the night at her house. Corrie just so happened to be visiting for the weekend at Chelsea's house. All of us watched Star Wars together, went on a hiking photoshoot, and added each other on social media. The band left to head back to North Dakota and no one thought we would see each other again. Over a year later, Kyle and Corrie reconnected on Facebook and joked about meeting up again to eat tacos (one of their favorite foods). At the time, Corrie was at college in Michigan and Kyle was going to graduate school in Kansas. It just so happened that a cheap flight between Michigan and Kanas was offered through Spirit airlines ($70 round trip)! We started dating long distance for about a year until Corrie graduated. Corrie then moved to Emporia and lived with Kyle's classmate, Shelby, until Kyle graduated from graduate school. Kyle proposed on September 7th, 2018 in his treehouse after sending Corrie on a scavenger hunt. He sang a song he wrote and gave her a ring he designed himself. Corrie is now a 2nd grade teacher where Kyle went to elementary school in Hawarden, IA (surreal)! Kyle is a clinical counselor and art therapist in Sioux City, IA. We could not be happier to spend the rest of our lives together! Thank you for being a part of our big day!
