Always prioritizing her family, friends, & simply living life to its fullest, Kyle didn't even think about settling down with someone until after she bought her house. Realizing she was going to be turning 30 soon, she joined a dating website on January 1, 2013 & started searching for her "perfect match." Despite countless dates over the next few years, she didn't quite find what she was looking for. So, she put the idea of a love life on the back burner & spent a year exploring many different places & cultures. Upon returning home, she excitedly immersed herself back into the lives of her family & friends, began a new career, & resumed volunteering for several nonprofits. Although she still hoped (& prayed every day) that she'd find her life partner, she also made peace with the possibility that her soulmate did not exist. As the pandemic eased, she considered dating again & asked her sister for advice on dating apps- ultimately joining Hinge towards the end of 2021. Chris, like many people, took a while to figure out relationships. As a young man, he knew physical attraction was an important part, but it took some trial & error to learn the other things he wanted, such as a strong companionship. Dating was difficult & exhausting, so Chris concluded he didn’t need anyone else to be fulfilled and lived life on his own terms. Being on his own for years allowed him to identify what he truly values & brings him joy. He loves spending time in nature (camping, hiking, kayaking, swimming), as well as going to Nyack (walking around town, having a bite or drink, enjoying live music). Eventually, Chris found himself wishing for someone to share these activities with. In 2021, taking the advice of friends, he decided to try dating apps. Chris was determined not to end up in yet another toxic relationship. He insisted on taking his time to get to know his match on a deeper level, ensuring he found someone he could truly connect with before committing to a relationship. One day while in Nyack, Chris opened Hinge, automatically updating his location. Now that he was within Kyle's distance parameters, he saw her profile & “liked” a picture of her dressed in a reindeer onesie prancing through the woods. They messaged back & forth before speaking on the phone for a few hours that first day. They continued to speak for several hours EVERY SINGLE DAY for a week, before finally meeting in person. Throughout those conversations, they talked about everything & anything- their hobbies, families, views on politics & religion, travel, education, jobs, passions, hopes & dreams, their past relationships & what they've learned from them. They talked about what they thought they would bring to a relationship & what they hoped to find in a partner. On their first date, Kyle greeted Chris with a smile & hug & asked if he needed any help; he was elated not only by her warmth of character & enthusiasm, but even more so by her eagerness to assist in their first adventure together. Chris had prepared a lunch for their hike, & generously insisted Kyle keep all the leftovers, which ended up feeding her for the next week. Despite their hike being cut short by an unexpected snow squall, they both had a great time & couldn't wait to see each other again. Chris quickly became completely & utterly charmed by Kyle, & he felt like he had at last found his true love: they shared similar values, he found her to be beautiful both inside & out, she is intelligent, has a great sense of humor, is down to earth, sensible, & so much more. It took Kyle a few more weeks to know for sure, but she was smitten from the start. Chris is so easy to talk to, fun to be with, smart, funny, talented & the most caring & generous person she’s met. The more they got to know each other, the more obvious their love for each other became to them & everyone around them. Needless to say they found their home in each other & they cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives as husband & wife.
