In 2013, Chelsea moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to begin a Ph.D program in Philosophy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Kyle had recently moved into his own apartment and was working full-time as a programmer. Being avid ultimate frisbee players, both Kyle and Chelsea signed up to play in the city league. Serendipitously, they ended up on the same team. Together, they lost every game that season.

After spending a year as the only two single people in a newly formed friend group, the OKCupid app suggested they give it a go. The rest is history.

Every year for their anniversary, Chelsea and Kyle would make their way to Colorado to enjoy beautiful hikes, great food, and special time together. With their five-year anniversary approaching, Chelsea thought to herself: I better lock this guy down. Chelsea dimmed the lights and lit hundreds of candles as their annual trip came to a close. She then got down on one knee and presented Kyle with a beautiful card asking him to marry her. He said yes!
