For years me and Kyle knew each other through Kyle's family. Kyles mum Lynne and dad Pete were regulars at the hotel where I was assistant manager. Kyle's sister Kim was working there as a supervisor and said her brother needed a job. We hired Kyle in the start of 2018, but I was not interested. LOL. I mean I had my reasons: 1. I was in a toxic relationship at the time and was dealing with getting out of that. 2. I thought he was a smelly goth, HA! In 2019 I was finally enjoying life travelling through America and Canada with my maid of honour Rebecca and then had to return to reality. When I got back Kyle had got a skin fade haircut and new glasses. Suddenly he was no longer the smelly goth. Sounds superficial I know but I was also his boss so I did not really pay him any mind because most the time as he will tell you is that I was "demanding he hurry up and get on the outside bar..." The actual story of how we got together is rather a strange one. I was very poorly after enjoying single life and going out partying all the time. Tragic. I was working the closing shift and Kyle was working the bar, I kept going down to see how the close was getting on and complaining to Kyle about how poorly I felt. He then proclaimed I should not go near him to pass it on. I said the only way you would get it was if I spat in his mouth... Classy. But wierdly that was the switching factor between us. After that we flirted on the bar but obviously couldn't tell anyone because I was not suppose to date the staff. We technically weren't dating it was just flirting. Then randomly Kyle stopped talking to me for 2 weeks... I was like oh OK then Kyle maybe not. Randomly one day after not speaking to me for 2 weeks, I came into work and Kyle asked if he could speak to me; he handed me a letter and said he was handing in his notice. I was like wow this man really doesn't like me and wants to change jobs so he never has to speak to me every again. Not very live, love. laugh. I asked if there was a reason, he said he had a new job in Aviva and it was a job where he could progress into IT, I said OK cool, good luck with life son. He said also he wanted to ask me if he could take me on a date because he knows I can't date staff. Super Cute :) I obviously said yes and the next week we went to Robinsons cafe for a breakfast date and the rest is history. Love that smelly goth.
