How We Met

Summer Sixteen

In 2016, Kyle and I met at church while we both attended Texas State. It was NOT love at first sight. He was dating someone else at the time and he and I could not stand each other. He thought I was too sassy and I thought he was too arrogant. Little did we know, we would later lead a college bible study together that would eventually lead to a great friendship and an even better relationship.

Facebook Official

9.11.17

"We're just friends." That was our catchphrase. Because at the time we were. However, we would meet people for the first time and they would assume we were dating or that we were even MARRIED. I guess people would see us together and we just made sense. We were comfortable around each other. We had fun. We clicked. We clicked in a way that we had never clicked with anyone. We truly brought the best out of one another. I think our story shows that when God's in it, it flows. When the flesh is in it, it's forced. If He's in it, it's crazy how approval will be granted, how growing interest will percolate, and how the timing will fall into place. It comes together almost in spite of you. And so on the way to drop me off at my class, Kyle turned to me and said, "So.... you ready to make this thing Facebook official or what?" I know, SO ROMANTIC.

The Proposal

4.27.19

Kyle began conjuring up ways to propose to me since January. Through meticulous planning, he made sure that my hair and nails were done, that I had on the perfect outfit, that our best friends were there (he even flew out our favorite photographer to capture our special moment), and that I did not suspect a thing. A few months ago, our best friends convinced me that they were planning a family trip to Disney World and they wanted Kyle and I to go with them. So after finishing my hardest semester of PT school, we headed to Orlando, Florida for that "family vacation". We arrived in Florida around 11am on April 27th. We had previously planned on simply enjoying a nice dinner the day we arrived because we knew we would be tired from traveling. So we got all dressed up, excited for our double date at The Boathouse in Disney Springs. Long story short, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were lead to a boat for a "wine tour" around the lake. The boat was beautifully decorated with candles and rose petals. With tears in his eyes, Kyle grabbed my hand, dropped down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! *Cue the champagne. Shortly after, all of our friends came out of hiding so they could join the party. We were treated to a wonderful four course dinner while we enjoyed the sunset and a romantic boat ride around the lake. Did I mention the night ended with a firework show?
