Irvine, California January of 2012. One of Kyle's high school friends has been renting a room in Josh King's house. After months of hearing about Josh's "mythical" younger brother who is "studying abroad in Europe", who apparently has never had his photo taken before in his entire life, Kyle and Andrew finally cross paths. Andrew had just arrived home from studying in Italy and England for the last year. Kyle skipped into his life (literally. Kyle skipped).
February 5, 2012. Andrew FINALLY called Kyle to ask her out after a torturous 36 hours after acquiring her phone number. He had the lovely idea to take them to the Discovery Science Center, a children's science museum with a giant black cube jutting out from the exterior of the building overlooking a brontosaurus model. There was a Star Wars exhibit going on at the time WITH A MILLENNIUM FALCON in the parking lot! ...
June 21, 2018. Andrew took Kyle to see a Shakespeare in the Park production of King Henry IV, (you know, the one with Hal and Falstaff) with one of her all time favorite actors, Tom Hanks, playing Falstaff. They ate a steak dinner and bought blankets to cuddle under (which they still have!) and spent a wonderful evening under the stars. BUT IT WAS ALL A CLEVER RUSE! You see, Andrew had decorated the house while Kyle was at work that day and when they both returned home after the show he proposed to her using the same Power Point Presentation that he had showed her when they first met.
February 29, 2020. Andrew and Kyle decided that they wanted a super easy to remember Wedding Anniversary and decided to get married on Leap Day 2020 ahead of their summer wedding. It was an intimate backyard affair with only 4 people in attendance, including the couple. The bride wore a dress with dinosaurs on it and the groom wore a blue linen suit. Two weeks later COVID-19 would shut down the world and their June 2020 wedding would be postponed for two years.
