It's Finally Happening!

Our story starts as all the great Anteater stories start... at a Sigma Chi and Alpha Phi exchange of course. Kyle was the elder UCI junior poli sci major and Anaselia a bright-eyed freshman studying musical theater. They had briefly been introduced before, but came together one night in Irvine and the rest (after many, many years!) became history. Anaselia and Kyle remained close friends all throughout college (he liked it so much he even stayed an extra year!), and became closer when Kyle moved to Chicago to work as a traveling consultant for Sigma Chi. Between frequent trips back to The OC and a couple weekends of Chi Town adventures, a more romantic love was beginning to brew over late-night FaceTimes and shared Spotify playlists. After about a year (of what they call "the gray area"), Kyle invited Anaselia out to Chicago for one last weekend when he let her know that he was moving back to Newport Beach. He took her out to Eataly and finally popped the relationship question over a fine assortment of meats and cheeses. Nine years (and many charcuterie boards) later, Kyle and Anaselia continue together on a non-stop adventure. Work took Kyle up to San Francisco in 2017. Then, they first moved in together when Anaselia's company relocated from Irvine to Dallas in 2018. After a few years of boot scootin' boogies, they moved yet again in 2021 when she received a career opportunity in Las Vegas. And once again in 2022 when she accepted her latest role in Seattle. After getting settled in the Pacific Northwest, Kyle (finally!) decided it was time to propose. He intentionally waited until a few days after Christmas, and set up a lunch date in North Beach followed by an evening in the city with some close friends. Of course, the lunch plan was a farce and in its place Kyle had arranged for flowers, champagne, and Anaselia's favorite Molinari Deli sandwiches in Washington Square Park (this same location sits adjacent to the church where Anaselia's parents were married 35 years ago). Kyle then took to one knee (in the rain!) to pop the big question. She of course said yes! When they aren't at an airport, you can most likely find these two at a concert, music festival, sporting event, or enjoying time (and wine) with family and friends. It means the world to Anaselia and Kyle to have all of their special people together and back in San Francisco to celebrate this glorious occasion!
