COVID-19 UPDATE #4

Posted on 8/18/20

***Due to the ever-changing landscape of the coronavirus pandemic, we will make sure to put any updates that will impact you here on this page.*** ————————- Hello, everyone! We are so excited to see you all very soon! We just wanted to remind you that masks will be required for this event. In case you arrive without a mask, we will have some disposable masks available near the entrance for your convenience. Also, hand sanitizers will be available at each dinner table. Each guest dinner table will seat 6-8 people. Please see our previous updates below for more information, including our venue’s mask-wearing guidelines and updated ceremony seating arrangements.

COVID-19 UPDATE #3

Posted on 8/4/20

In order to abide by our venue’s half-capacity rule during the ceremony, we are asking 30 guests to sit in a side room with separate seating from the main ceremony room. The side room seating will still allow 100% of our guests to watch the ceremony live, but from a slightly further distance. We are trying our best to prioritize family and those who have traveled furthest to be part of the main ceremony seating. We will be sending out an e-mail soon to those we are asking to be seated in the side room. The email address provided with your online RSVP is the email we will be using to contact those 30 guests. If you do NOT receive an e-mail from us, you will be seated in the main ceremony room as originally planned. Please contact Amy Oldham (407-401-2726) or Kyle Reedy (727-249-9983) if you have any questions regarding this new seating arrangement. Thank you for your understanding during this time. The ceremony is about 30 minutes long. After the ceremony, we will not need to utilize any side rooms. Cocktail hour and the reception are both held in larger areas, so this will allow for 100% of our guests to enjoy the same space.

COVID-19 UPDATE #2

COVID-19 UPDATE #1

Posted on 7/1/20

Our venue has enacted some new social distancing guidelines to comply with the local county's new executive order: - Masks are now required by all guests. Guests need to have masks on when entering the building and when moving about. Guests may remove their masks at their table. Masks are required outside as well if 6 feet social distancing cannot be achieved. The venue will be flexible with photos outside. - The bride and groom do not need to wear a mask during the ceremony. - The venue's rooms will operate at 50% capacity. However, this rule will not effect the guest count for our wedding.

How We First Met

April 2014

Amy and Kyle met at UCF during a beach volleyball social night that Young Life College was hosting. While we were playing a crowded game of 10 vs. 10 beach volleyball, I (Kyle) noticed Amy and wanted to find a way to talk to her. I walked up to Amy and her roommate (Agustina, bridesmaid) and casually got Agustina’s number so that I could get a smaller volleyball group together and invite both of them. At the smaller hang out the following week, I finally got Amy's number and then asked her to hang out with me for a ‘study break' by paddle boarding on the lake at UCF. She said yes, so we went paddle boarding and hung out until they closed and kicked us out. So then we went to get dinner and hung out until the restaurant closed and kicked us out. So then we went to get ice cream and hung out until they also closed and kicked us out. We finally drove back to our dorm rooms, and before I dropped her off, I asked her to go on an official date with me.

Our Engagement

December 2020

Five years and four degrees later, Kyle finally saved up enough nickles and dimes from his piggy bank to buy Amy something shiny, sparkly, and gold. So he came up with a plan to ask her to marry him, and here is the story from Amy's perspective... Kyle and I were planning to have a double date night (or so I thought). That day after work, he picked me up with flowers in hand. When we got to his apartment, he told me he wanted to pick up a package from the mail before we head over to the double date. I joined him on the walk to his community mailbox, and since we had been talking lots about our plans to get married in 2020, I ironically (and obliviously) said, “Isn’t it cool we’re going to be like...married?!” As we walked, he continued the conversation by saying lots of sweet words about our relationship. Once we got to the mailbox, he opened it and pulled out the first letter I had written him back when he went away to volunteer at a summer camp after we had first met. I was very thrown off and confused as to why this would be sitting in his mailbox so many years later. He took my hand with a big smile and lead me away from the mailbox saying, "let's keep walking!” That's when I finally realized what might be happening...I started jumping a little as he continued to reminisce through a timeline of our 5 years together. He walked me down to the lake in his apartment complex, and I spotted a photographer. At that point, he was still going through the verbal timeline of our relationship, but all I could focus on was, “NOW THIS IS 100% HAPPENING!” Once we got to the end of the dock, he bent down on one knee and said the magic words. I excitedly squeeked, “yes!” The rest of the night was full of even more surprises including family and friends who were there to congratulate us with decorations and food, a professional engagement photo-shoot, and a lit-up gazebo with lights/wine/cheese/music. Long story short...it was the BEST DAY EVER.
