In many ways, Alexis and Kyle’s story is a truly modern love story. One that began not through chance encounters or mutual friends, but through an online dating app. What started as a simple match quickly became something much more meaningful. From their very first conversations, it was clear that there was an easy connection between them, the kind that makes time seem to pass without notice. During that first month, they spent what felt like every spare moment together, even when they weren’t in the same place. Long video calls became a daily routine, sometimes lasting late into the night, as they learned about each other’s lives, families, hopes, and the small details that make someone who they are. When their schedules allowed, they found any excuse to see each other in person, turning ordinary moments into memories that would shape the beginning of their relationship. Before long, what started as frequent visits turned into something more permanent. Alexis moved in with Kyle, and together they began building a life side by side. Like any new couple, they experienced the familiar milestones that come with merging two lives into one, apartment hunting, moving, learning each other’s routines, and navigating both the exciting highs and the inevitable challenges that life brings. Through each step, their partnership grew stronger, grounded in the same connection that first brought them together. Not long after, Kyle began planning a moment he hoped Alexis would never forget. On November 1, 2024, he put that plan into motion. On what Alexis believed was a simple stop on the way to dinner, Kyle told her he just needed to quickly pick something up that he had forgotten at work. Instead, he led her to the MV Skansonia, a historic ferry permanently docked on Lake Union in Seattle. As they approached the boat, Alexis grew increasingly suspicious, half convinced they were trespassing or breaking in somewhere they definitely shouldn’t be. Her worries quickly melted away once they stepped inside and she saw the boat beautifully set up for the proposal. In the moment, Kyle reached into his jacket pocket for the ring box only to fumble it slightly as he pulled it out and present the box upside down before delivering a short, carefully rehearsed speech. With the lake just outside and the surprise of the moment sinking in, Alexis said yes, beginning the next chapter of their story together. In the time since, Alexis and Kyle have continued building their life together in meaningful ways. Most recently, they purchased their first home, a place that reflects the life they have been creating side by side. It has become a space where they can settle in, grow together, and begin laying the foundation for the many chapters still ahead as they look forward to their wedding and the future they will share.
