This is Kyle's favorite place to eat breakfast, hands down - it even beats out Chimera Brewery (that's big!) Everything is home cooked and delicious, you can't go wrong!
Owner/Artist Cynthia James has one of the most original stores on the square. Katlin had a gallery showing here, and you can find a few of Marigold Trading Co.'s items around. It's a great place to find items for the upcoming holidays.
If you have time to travel a bit, Glen Rose is 40 minutes by car from Granbury, and this State Park is a treasure trove of fossils, preserved dino tracks and beautiful Texas scenery. The river is a cool blessing during our hot fall weather. Heads up though, unlike Missouri, Texas parks charge $5 - $7 a person for entry.
The BEST place to go for kiddos, drive through a Texas Safari and feed giraffes, zebra, gazelle, and so many more.
Yes, they do still drive cows through the roads on occasion, but, except for very rarely when some stockyard beasties escape, it's usually for show. There's dancing and live music, shopping and a nightly rodeo put on at the stockyards - don't let it pass you by!
We definitely want to get the Main Event's location on the map - The N at Hardaway is about 20 minutes out of Granbury, just the other side of a tiny, blink-you-miss-it town called Bluff Dale. We can't wait to see everyone there - come ready to party!
Texas has a way of surprising us with the weather, but early September days are traditionally HOT - Splash Kingdom is an option for the littles to cool down a bit before or after the festivities Saturday night.
I kind of feel like it would be a missed opportunity not to share a place for horseback rides - if you're coming to Texas, why not do a trail ride through some gorgeous country side?
This is one of our favorite places to go - 50 acres of gorgeous gardens started by a couple who loved gardening almost as much as they loved each other. Kyle believes it hosts the best rose garden he has ever seen, and since it stands as Texas A&M's primary rose test garden, most tend to agree! It has an amazing miniature train station smack dab in the center of the gardens, peacocks, and some really awesome water features. It's a definite 'don't miss it' on our list!
