Let's try this again!

Dear Friends and Family: We missed celebrating with all of our extended family and friends back in 2020 but we're excited to celebrate with you on December 18, 2021! We look forward to seeing you, Rosa & Kyle

It all started 15 years ago in high school. No we’re not high school sweethearts but we did date each other’s friends. It wasn’t until Kyle’s senior year we decided to try to give it a chance. He invited me to his graduation party and I showed up. Unfortunately, he ignored me the entire time! It probably wouldn’t have worked out since he was going to college and the following year I would be going out of state for college. Fast forward 10 years. Kyle is working full time as a police officer for Anaheim Police Department and I’m getting ready to move back to California to work as a Speech Therapy Assistant in San Diego. He reaches out to me to take me out on a date. Once again the timing, I still had a month left in Texas before I was back. A month later, we planned our first date. Which also happened to be the night my parents planned a surprise welcome back party. So our first date included him meeting my whole family, he actually talked to me (redeemed himself) and then my godfather frisking him as he entered the door (he had no idea he was cop which made it funnier). It was an instant connection! Fast forward 2 years, we go on a yearly Cabo trip with his family. Each trip we go on a romantic dinner so this year didn’t seem out of the ordinary. A romantic dinner with a beautiful view was followed by a walk on the beach in front of our resort. Towards the end of our walk, he gets down on one knee and proposes. I just remember crying and kissing him. We walk over to a beautiful cabana set up by our resort to have a champagne toast. We walk up to the patio and his family was waiting to congratulate us. As I’m trying to call my parents, I hear someone call out my name. Out walk my parents and grandmothers for the surprise engagement! The timing of his entire proposal couldn’t have gone better! It was the most thoughtful, beautiful and loving proposal I didn’t even know I wanted!
