It all began in 1993 when Kenna had her first crush... on none other than Kyle. The only catch? Kyle had his little 5-year-old eyes on someone else—Kenna's best friend. Ah, kindergarten love triangles. Despite that early hiccup, Kenna and Kyle spent the next few years in the same class until 3rd grade, when fate (or the school district) separated them. Kyle switched schools, leaving their budding friendship (and Kenna's crush) behind. Fast forward to 2004: they reconnected as teenagers. They hung out one night with friends and sparks flew. But, as fate intervened once more, Kenna had a boyfriend, and their timing was off again. Now, skip ahead to 2020 when fate (or maybe a mutual respect for law enforcement) brought them back together at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Kyle, an officer, and Kenna working dispatch, formed a solid friendship and bond (though we all know she's really his boss; he does call her "Control" after all), but the universe was still waiting for the right moment. In 2023, the stars finally aligned, and they knew—this was it. After 30 years of twists, turns, and missed connections, they realized they had found their human and soulmate. And with the help of their three beautiful girls, on July 28, 2024, Kyle got down on one knee and proposed. So here they are, about to start the next chapter of their lives—proof that sometimes love takes the scenic route. But in the end, it always leads you home… to your human, your soulmate, and your forever.
