Very 21st-century-style, we became friends online after Diego relocated to the North for work after living in Florida for over 15 years. Diego's brother, Gonzalo, encouraged him to create a profile to meet people since he was completely new to the area and also gave him the very important tip of being careful of "New York City girls" because they might be "too fast-paced" for him. Fast forward, and now here we are. : )

After many weekends of being too busy, we decided to make some time to go bike riding in the park with our dog, Sebastian. I was biking carrying Sebastian in a carrier on my back, and he got too heavy so I asked Diego to switch with me; I would carry his backpack instead. I didn't realize the ring was in the backpack the whole time. We took a break from riding and Diego said he wanted to take a picture of us underneath a tree. He arranged his phone/camera to sit on the laying bike but set it to a video recording. I thought he was coming to sit next to me so we could pose for the camera, but instead he kneeled toward me, gave me an uncharacteristically nervous look, and began with the proposal. Sebastian was the very first to officially know of the good news and give his blessing. We are happy, thankful, and excited to have the opportunity to share this next chapter in our lives with you!
