May 9th: Virtual Rainbow Connection on Zoom!

We can't wait to celebrate with you.

Two years ago, Flip and Kye were just a couple of smokin' hot makers working late into the night in the woodshop right before Christmas. Who knew this wood be love? Please join us internetly this Saturday, May 9th, at 1pm Central (2 Eastern / 11am Pacific) for our virtual Rainbow Connection wedding. There will be two parts: Our one-hour wedding ceremony with dance break, poetry, vows, tears, smooching, confetti. We have sent a link in email, please contact us if you didn't receive it. We will also have 45 minute "receptions" throughout the day. We've bundled people into groups who know each other or who are on the same groove so that we can all communally catch up. That will be in a separate zoom meeting, also in your email

What to wear and scrounge up

Mostly we'd love to see your face and visit a bit. But if you'd like to help us with our Rainbow Connection theme: * Wear bright colors or rainbows, but of course teleconference casual (i.e. if pajama pants or a tartan or tutu are your usual style these days, don't change because of us) * During the ceremony we'll sing "Come Sing a Song with Me" and "Rainbow Connection" — click on "FAQs" * See if you can scrounge up: Flower petals or bright confetti, * a Candle (with some way to light it), and * Champagne or another special drink For the visit, bring something for Show & Tell — * Perhaps something you made,  * or a story about Kye or me that the other of us needs to know,  * or best of all a good tip for life-long relationships! And lastly, some cake or some special treat to eat!

Program for May 9th Virtual Ceremony

* Our Story * * Song: “Come Sing a Song with Me (click on "FAQs" above for lyrics!) * * Flower Children Mayhem * * Community Vows * * Poems / Readings * * **Dance Break** * * Kye and Flip Vows * * Seven Blessings * * Pronouncement! Smooch! * * Song: "Rainbow Connection" (click on "FAQs" above for lyrics!) *

Help I haven't used Zoom before!

WE LOVE YOU BOOMER

We have some friends who have volunteered to help coach people setting it up and doing a quick trial. Post a message on Slack if you figured that out or email us back and we'll pass the request along. One hint: if it asks about audio, the simplest thing is to choose "Internet Audio", and then click yes if it asks whether you want to allow zoom to use the microphone. (There's a phone option too, see below, but you won't be able to see us of course)

Your Help and Presence is Your Gift

We have a comfortable life and a well-stocked home. There are some gift items on the registry, along with options to create a honeymoon experience or to donate to charities that resonate with us.

Gifts & Guiding Principles

In the U.S., as a nation, we live with such material abundance. We (Flip & Kye) don't have to worry right now about paying for food or rent, about having documents that allow us to work and drive, we are well-supported in our mental health and we have a kind and loving community. With the pace of life, though, we sometimes feel that time to just BE together can be hard to find. That feels like a scarcity we wrestle with every single day. Our wish for this weekend is to have some stress-free, hang-out time with our dearest people in the world (you!). It would be a wonderful gift to us if you could help this weekend go smoothly -- pitch in where you can. Check out http://j.mp/kyeflip-helpers -- let us know if you would want to run a grill or make pancakes for breakfast, if you'll have a car and could pick up others, if you want to bring a game, or tell a good story or a punny joke or sing a song in the talent show. Help us prove beyond a doubt that we can still entertain each other better than Netflix ;) We know that our pace of life also has an impact on the earth. Help us to reduce the impact of this event. Carpool, recycle during the weekend, and keep ahold of your cup, spork and handkerchief. If you're looking at our registry, know that building things and planting gardens is important to us (and we love to feed pollinators), and that we look forward to your advice on these things for many years to come. We would also like to name that our wedding takes place on unceded Tonkawa and Nunumuu (Comanche) territory. We ask that all guests treat the land, the water and the animals with respect. These are the very best gifts you could give us. Really. We're so excited to see you. :D Love, Kye & Flip
