His POV: “We are friends on IG, right?”.. These are the first words I ever spoke to my future wife lol. She likes to give me a hard time, but I had to start the conversation somehow. Canceled flights and mutual friends is what brought us to the same Air bnb years ago in Miami for a music festival. A weekend full of all types of fun, but I found the time I spent with her to be what I enjoyed most. From ping pong, to pool nights, to standing in the rain watching some of our favorite artists, I quickly knew that I wanted to continue to spend more time with her. So I did! Her POV: Music festival in Miami. I’m meeting my sister from Chicago down there. Her flight gets canceled so she ends up driving but she’s responsible for the hotel and won’t be there til the next day. I’m stranded. I call a friend that I knew was going to the fest embarrassed but asked if I could crash 1 night. Shoutout to Eric! I get to the Airbnb it’s a house of 10+ people, Geno being one of them. He was actually the first one I met pulling up in the driveway he greeted me with “I think I follow you on Instagram” oh brother. We ended up hanging out every day that weekend. Us both being from Tacoma it was easy to pick up where we left off when we got back from vacation.
Geno proposed in the location of their first date - Tacoma waterfront. He got all their close friends and family on board behind Kyarra’s back. Even her mom to come from out of state. She thought she was headed to a women’s conference and he was coaching football practice! A sentimental touch was a bumblebee pin to hold her bouquet- her late grandma Vicky’s signature so she could be there too. He thought of everything. There was a huge crowd as the waterfront usually gets when there’s nice weather. People came down from their balconies to share the pictures they got of the couple. AND there just happened to be a photographer there who was so generous to offer capturing this moment for free. Our pup Kove at the venue since he can’t be there on the big day
