Our story began in July 2022, when Richard’s little in VSA finally convinced him to try using a dating app called Hinge, something he swore he would never do. The agreement was that Richard would give it a try for two weeks, then if he didn’t want to do it anymore, he would never be pressured to do so again. Richard’s first match was Ky. Right away, Richard was so excited to talk to Ky that he would stay up until 3am texting her while she was working night shifts at the hospital. He would then proceed to set up an alarm to wake up at 6am to talk to her before she went home after work to sleep. After 3 days of this, Richard knew right away there was something special between him and Ky. He wasted no time and asked her out on a date, their first date. Three months into dating, Richard had a peanut allergy attack during dinner and went to the hospital. His first and only thought when signing into the emergency room was to tell Ky where he was. She immediately left her family dinner to rush over and be by his side. He was laying on the bed in pain trying to breathe when he saw something in the corner of his eye. He looked over and saw Ky taking selfies of herself and Richard, calling Richard her “Boba Boy”. It was at that moment he knew he wanted to marry her. The next morning, Richard told Ky that he was going to marry her. She laughed it off saying “That’s just the Morphine from the hospital talking”. Fast forward two years later, in front of Ky’s family on the sands of Bethany Beach. Richard kneeled in front of Ky, asking her if he could have the honor of being able to spend the rest of his life with her. She said Yes, of course. It was only then when Richard felt it was the right time to make a joke saying “I told you it wasn’t the Morphine”. --- It has been a year and a half of planning to get everything how we wanted our special day to be. Through it all, we’ve had endless support from all our family and friends. We are so excited to be able to give you all a weekend full of fun, food, drinks, and a little love story to go with it.
