Matt and Kyandra met in May 2021 while working on the set of a Louisiana based mermaid thriller called Erzulie. Although they may have exchanged a few glances in the swamp, this did not begin as an on-set romance. There is speculation as to when the attraction first began, but witnesses allude to a flirty casino trip and late night hand holding at the New Orleans wrap party the day after shooting finished. Though the couple seemingly has no recollection of this taking place, they did get to know each other throughout their few days in New Orleans, enjoying several long walks around the French Quarter with Kyandra's dog Teddy. Kyandra speculates that Matt had a chance sooner than he took. Later that month when the Austin, TX based members of the film crew reunited for a night on the town, Kyandra and Matt would leave the bar to go on one of the many walks they'd come to share, and Matt would work up the courage to ask Kyandra for a kiss. A week later they went on their first date, and now they invite you to share with them in their biggest walk yet: down the aisle.
