One of our favorite places to visit in Minneapolis! It has a great cafe & restaurant, it's kid-friendly, very close to the wedding venue and FREE!
The Midtown Global Market is another of our favorite places in Minneapolis. It's right in our neighborhood and is an indoor market with a bunch of different restaurant stalls and different cultural goods. There's a great brewery, too! A Minneapolis must.
A great, American-Indian owned coffee shop and art gallery right in our neighborhood!
Going to the American Swedish Institute for Katie's birthday in January has become a tradition for us. During December and January, the beautiful castle-like house is decorated for Christmas and has rotating exhibits about Scandinavian culture. There's a cafe, gift shop, and fun stuff for kids to do, too. There is an admission fee, but we think it's totally worth it.
Another FREE, kid-friendly activity that is great for a Minnesota winter--the conservatory is beautiful, warm and bright even in the middle of December!
The St Anthony Main (movie) Theater is right on St Anthony Main which is one of the most beautiful views of Minneapolis. It's right along the riverfront, complete with restaurants, cafes, and a pedestrian/bike bridge over the Mississippi River. It's worth checking out even in winter! And if you're feeling more like a cozy indoor activity, the Theater is Katie's favorite.
