Gene and Kyas match up has always been an odd one. Gene, much more relaxed and go with the flow. Kya, can't leave the house without make up and always has a plan. Yet, fate brought these two together over an app. Gene swiped right on Kya, and Kya, originally swiped left on Gene (Saying no). Yet, her phone wasn't okay with this answer. So it showed Gene again. Kya studied his photo, that big happy grin and decided what the heck, lets give it a go. "Do you have any raisins?" Gene asked. Kya, looked down and oddly enough was eating grapes. "I have some grapes." "How about a date instead?" It was cheesy, but it left Kya smiling. Kya lived over the mountain in Londonderry at the time. Gene lived in Brattleboro. It was about an hour drive from each other. Fate played its hand again when Gene asked Kya on a date. She had to drive through Brattleboro on November 19th to get to the airport to visit her family in the South. She figured it wouldn't hurt to stop and see Gene. If anything, it would be a break in her long trip. Kya drove up Bonnyvale Road, going too slow as she hadn't had much of a history driving on dirt roads before. As many know, Bonnyvale Road is not a road you want to drive during mud season. Kya thought to herself "There is no way I am driving up this road every day". Little did she know, she was indeed going to drive that road multiple times a day. On their first date, they got ice cream at The Blueberry House (which as fate has it, they now live across from), they walked around downtown Brattleboro, Gene showed Kya around Sams as he played the Ukulele and they went Bowling. Their date ended at the Crackle Barrel which Gene had never had before. Their lives were full of firsts together. Their most important first being their Son Gatlin who was born April 10, 2021. Fate has always played a part in their lives and they will continue to believe in Fate for the rest of their love story,
