Katherine's brother was friends with William's cousin, they used to hang out in Katherine's house every time, they used to see each other at church and some soccer matches in the community. William tried to have Katherine to date him over the years, he asked her out so many times, they used to have their best time together, it felt like they knew each other forever. 2015, 2017, 2020. William and Katherine found each other over and over again those years, beautiful dates, going to church together, long night deep conversations and food, a lot of food... That's how Katherine remembers those years being friends with William. On his side, these years were a fail of him trying to have her dating him, She was the love of his life, the woman he always wanted to marry, the girl he would always come back and check If she was ready to be with him as more than friends. Finally, 2022. He was going through a hard breakout with other girl, she was going thought the same but worse, both were living a hard time in their lives, William asked her out to talk, besides his feelings for her, he always considered her a good friend to talk, Katherine was good at listening, so they went to a park, sat down on the floor and started a long 4 hours conversation, it rained, it got dark, and they were still there, opening their hearts and at the moment he dropped her off at her house after that night, both realized they missed each other so much and that was the beginning of something unbreakable. This was different. They haven't stop talking since then, both healed their wounds, grew together, became the best friends ever and one day, on Feb 5 of 2023, with a promise ring, He asked her to be his girlfriend, she said yes. This young couple see marriage as a dream, a goal, the proof of their love, in Nicaragua this was hard to reach for many reasons, building a life together and becoming their best version of themselves is what they wanted. He prayed, she prayed and God made his will and that is how they decided to come to the US and start a new life here, there are many sacrifices in immigration, you put your dreams, goals, expectations and prayers in a small suitcase, get on a plane and fly to unknown places, unknown people and challenges, EVEN long distance! BUT Love is patient, kind and brave. This is just a piece of what their love story is about. William's patience and pure love.
