Our story began on the first day of PT school at the Medical University of South Carolina. I'll admit, during orientation, I couldn't help but giggle at Daniel's Hawaiian shirt and those wonderfully oversized glasses. But beneath the quirky exterior was a man of remarkable persistence. His pursuit started at the MUSC wellness center and culminated in him walking me back to my car in P Lot. Daniel seized every opportunity to join me on my way to class—a feat, considering my pace!—using his knowledge of muscles, bones, and nerve innervations as a charming, if slightly nerdy, way to impress me. We became study buddies, gym partners, and eventually, I even coaxed him into swapping the library for downtown coffee shops. It was then, amidst the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, that I realized, 'Wow, this man is serious!' After what felt like twenty attempts, I finally said 'yes' to a date, a 'yes' that would lead to many more. Almost five years later, Daniel knelt down on one knee, and that 'yes' was, without a doubt, my absolute favorite.
