Our story began on May 3, 2021 when it went down in my Facebook DM's. Kwanza and I had been Facebook friends for quite some time, but had never seen or spoken to each other. Finally on May 3, Kwanza sent me a DM and the rest is history. We went on our first date in July 2021 after Kwanza drove to Birmingham and created an itinerary for the weekend. I knew then how intentional of a guy he was, and the chemistry began to grow more and more. Kwanza and I sealed the deal and became girlfriend and boyfriend in Nov. 2021. In May of 2022, Kwanza moved to Birmingham and our bond continued to grow stronger. Date nights continued, we began growing in Christ together, and really worked toward maintaining a healthy relationship. Christmas 2022, unbeknownst to me, Kwanza asked for my parent's blessing to take my hand in marriage, and in May 2023 he asked me to be his wife in front of many loved ones and friends. Our wedding day May 3, 2025 is monumental for many reasons, largely because of who we've become as one over the course of these four years. Biblically, the number 3 represents divine wholeness and completeness, and Kwanza coming into my life has made it complete. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
