IslandWood is a nonprofit "school in the woods", they create experiences that help students and educators understand their environment and discover the impact they can have on their world and their community. There are 250 acres of woods and we will have private access to everything there from 4pm Oct 4th to 12pm Oct 6th. https://islandwood.org/
IslandWood supports sustainability. To go along with this wonderful theme, we have chosen to not send paper invitations. - We ask guests to bring a reusable water bottle and/or travel mug. There will be tea/coffee service in the dining hall and water fountains in each building. - The walkways are paved and there are lights along the path, however, if you want extra light, bring a flashlight. - There are 250 acres with tons of hiking paths, if you want to explore, bring a sturdy pair of shoes.
Rain happens in Seattle, although its rarely a downpour...we may still do the ceremony outside even if there is a drizzle...so bring shoes that are garden friendly and maybe a fancy umbrella or a hat to cover your hair in case it does sprinkle. All of the buildings are relatively close, maximum 2-5 walk to the main hall, but since we will be wearing our finest, consider bringing a cover that you don't mind getting rained on.
We have invited kids to whom we are related and those we have helped raise as well as those still breastfeeding. We also understand that a weekend away may be tough, so please talk to us and we will do the best we can.
Yes, IslandWood is providing all our food and they will accommodate your needs. When you register for accommodations you will have an opportunity to list your dietary needs.
Due to our venue's strict capacity, we have listed your date by name on the rsvp page. If you would like to bring a plus one please contact us and we will see what we can do.

There is no smoking in or near the lodges. The staff will direct you to the designated area to smoke.
