At the heart of town, Doylestown’s historic district is full of charm and character. Guests can stroll past beautifully preserved Victorian and Federal-style buildings, browse local boutiques, and enjoy cozy cafés and restaurants. Landmarks like the Mercer Museum, Michener Art Museum, and Fonthill Castle are all close by, making it easy to spend a day exploring both history and culture. With its walkable streets and welcoming atmosphere, downtown Doylestown is the perfect place to wander, shop, and take in the local flavor.
Peddler’s Village is a charming destination with cobblestone walkways, gardens, and over 60 specialty shops and boutiques. With several restaurants, cafés, and sweet shops on site, it’s a great place to spend a few hours wandering, shopping, and enjoying the scenery.
Just a short drive from Doylestown, New Hope is a charming riverside town known for its vibrant arts scene, boutique shopping, and great dining. Stroll along Main Street to browse galleries, shops, and cafés, or enjoy a walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath and river views from the bridge to Lambertville, NJ.
If you have time, we recommend taking a trip to Philadelphia, just about an hour from Doylestown. You may also catch some extra festivities while you’re in town, as Philadelphia will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, with special events and celebrations happening throughout the city. While you’re there, be sure to explore historic Elfreth’s Alley, see the Liberty Bell (Ryan's sister's favorite), visit the United States Mint, tour Independence Hall, and stroll through Old City. Some of our favorite places to eat and drink are Cleavers (our go-to cheesesteak), Independence Beer Garden, Walnut Garden, Double Knot (especially for happy hour), and Bok Bar.
