Semi-formal: Suits and Dresses.
Although the reception is by personal invitation, the wedding is a worship service, which is a public event. Anyone may attend the wedding. No invitation is necessary. Please be in your seat by 2:45 p.m. Please give your full attention to the prelude featuring the Good News Handbell Ensemble, the handbell choir of First Lutheran Church. Everything you need for the wedding is in the bulletin or in Evangelical Lutheran Worship, the hymnal in the pew rack. Communion is open today to baptized Christians who are of age to receive communion, and who believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in, with, and under the bread and wine offering his gifts of forgiveness, new life, and salvation. Communion will be administered in a continuous manner by intinction. The wafer will be placed in your hand; you may dip the wafer into the cup of wine, or you may drink from the common cup.

Dressy.
This event usually takes place on the Friday evening after Christmas. However, in 2019, it is on the Sunday afternoon after Christmas. This annual event featuring excerpts from Händel's Messiah. Those who wish to sing should please arrive by 3 p.m. For those who wish to listen, the program begins at 4 p.m.
