Cassidy and Kurtis met during their freshman year at Ball State University as a result of having a mutual friend and playing intramural volleyball together. On April 20, 2016, Kurtis asked Cassidy to be his girlfriend.

Kurtis and Cassidy planned a trip with Kurtis’s brother, Jake, and sister-in-law, Erica, to Zion National Park in August 2021. On August 28, 2021, while hiking Canyon Overlook, Kurtis asked Cassidy to be his wife!
