Glacier National Park
The west entrance is 25 miles from the airport. It is a beautiful place for a hike, exploring, or drive on Going to the Sun Road. This is even where Kurt proposed to Jackie! Check the website for road/trail status before going (you never know when the snow will start to fly on the Continental Divide!)
Whitefish Mountain Resort ("Big Mountain")
Lots of on mountain activities! Check website for dates/times as they may be limited this time of year.
Swan River Nature Trail a.k.a “Washout Trail”
This is a beautiful trail that follows the Swan River, which the venue is located up stream of. The couple loves to grab a coffee, and huckleberry cinnamon roll, from the Lake Baked bakery in Bigfork and walk this well maintained, easy trail along the River with breathtaking mountain views.
Flathead Lake
Flathead Lake can be accessed by both side of the lake - the East side in Bigfork where our venue is, or the West side from Somers or Lakeside. Largest lake (by surface area) west of the Missouri River. Beautiful views from either shoreline. Dip your toes in the water, or adventure further out for those who are brave in September.
Hiking
There are amazing hiking trails in the valley, for all levels of “adventurers.” Our favorite app is “AllTrails.” Download it and find a trail, for your comfort level, nearby.
Riley's Pub
This is the couple’s favorite casual dining, overlooking their house and the stunning Flathead Lake. We recommend the molten cheese appetizer, Riley’s pizza, and lemon huckleberry cheesecake for dessert.
Pocketstone Cafe
The couples favorite place for the best breakfast. Within walking distance of the Timbers Motel (block of rooms), and right downtown Bigfork.
