Carol and Kurt met in the depths of the pandemic - our first date was a thirty minute socially-distanced Zoom call, followed by a month of outdoor meetups before we decided to take things to the next level and join each other’s Covid bubble. Carol’s first impression of Kurt was of a laid-back funemployed dude (accurate at the time!) but he managed to impress her(??) by mentioning that Noam Chomsky was a linguist before becoming a political activist, and by his familiarity with the taxation of stock-based compensation and corn maze-solving algorithms. Kurt's first impression of Carol was that he'd never met anyone so passionate about tax policy. Not long after, Carol got the opportunity to work for Congress and we took the leap of moving cross-country and moving in together at the same time, starting a new chapter in our lives. After two wonderful years in D.C. we came back to San Francisco and are enjoying reuniting with our friends here while keeping up the friendships we formed in D.C.
