1. Independence Hall: a National Treasure where Nicholas Cage discovers a pivotal clue using Ben Franklin's bifocals. But actually an awesome 45 min tour where the Founding Fathers debated the Declaration and Constitution. 2. Museum of the American Revolution: one of the few museums we've been to that presents American history in an unbiased, truthful way and teaches you things that were left out in high school. 3. Constitution Center: see the reference picture. You'll make lifelong friends. 4. Liberty Bell: The bell does not ring. It's kinda small. 5. Zahav: a fancy AF Israeli restaurant that won the James Beard award for best restaurant in America in 2019. (Philly has things!) Get reservations far in advance.
1. Philadelphia Museum of Art: There’s a great Rocky statue outside. We’ve also heard there’s a timeless collection of art inside. 2. Barnes Museum: A doctor from Philadelphia just so happened to amass a collection of Picasso’s, Monet’s, and more and displayed them in quirky arrangements, which are maintained inside the museum.
1. Dante & Luigi’s: A classic Italian restaurant where a mobster was shot (so you know it’s good), with veal parm bigger than your face. 2. The Italian Market: A traditional open air market dripping in olive oil where you can craft the charcuterie board of your dreams and find the Italian grandma you never knew you wanted. Half of the Italian Market is now a Latin-American market, including James Beard winner and Chef's Table star Christina Martinez's South Philly Barbacoa, among other culinary delights!
Some of our favorite restaurants (* = outdoor seating available): Reading Terminal Market: SO MANY OPTIONS. Eat them all! (Our rehearsal dinner is here!) Dante & Luigi's Ristorante Pesto Zorba’s Taverna (BYOB)* Parc* Frankford Hall* great outdoor beer garden.
