Our story of how we met and fell in love is not the usual, nor is it the most romantic, but I think that is why it fits me well. I am very laid back, I don’t need a lot in life to make me content. I enjoy hanging out in my backyard drinking some beers compared to going to someplace wearing fancy clothes and having drinks. What type of girl would be happy with this? For a while, I thought I wouldn’t marry because I wouldn’t find someone who accepts me for me. However, in April 2017 God introduced me to Shivani. We met through a dating app and quickly discovered we had similar values, life goals, and interests. We both love the outdoors and we enjoy vacations to different spots, so we decided we would have our dates be vacation spots. What better way to date than while exploring the world? Our first vacation is now our favorite spot: the Florida Keys. It was there that I knew that she is the one that best compliments me. She is simple, humble, fun to be around, enjoys food, and was up to trying new things. We vacationed to a couple other spots over the next year, but we realized we wanted to spend more time together. I asked Shivani to move to Florida. In April 2018, one year after dating, she moved in with her dog Bullet. Bullet is a 75lb Blue Nose Pitbull that can be very intimidating but the sweetest thing ever. He is now my best friend. Later, we decided we wanted to move back to the east coast of Florida (where I grew up) so we could be closer to the water. We visited a new construction community that I had been eyeballing over the last year. After viewing the floor plan and other details Shivani and I said we’ll think about it. As we were driving off, we looked at each other and both agreed this wasn’t an opportunity we wanted to miss. We turned the car back around and put a security deposit down on our future home. That is how we make decisions, and that's what I love about us. I couldn’t be happier coming home to the woman I love best – Shivani Patel!

I never thought I would meet the love of my life on a dating app but oh boy am I glad I did. Getting to know Kunal over the last couple of years has been like one big breath of fresh air after the next. He is so humble, open to new adventures, and supportive of me and my goals. I’ve always been concerned that I wouldn’t be able to meet someone who would love and accept me for who I was, a Bollywood princess and southern belle all mixed into one. Thankfully Kunal and I are so similar in our interests and values that I know he is the one for me in not just this lifetime but every lifetime. It was really important to me that Kunal and I get along well with each other's families and it brings me such joy and peace to see his relationship with my parents and my sister’s family flourish. I couldn't ask for a better set of second parents than Anil Dad and Rita Mom and I'm excited to be gaining Puja as a sister. Whether it is eating tasty food with mom, golfing with dad, or just chilling at home and introverting with Krishna. After my nieces were born we took a trip to California so he could meet my sister and brother-in-law for the first time. It was after that meeting I knew Kunal was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. His family values, love for Bollywood music, and sense of adventure made me fall head over heels in love. I know as long as Kunal is beside me, we can take on any challenges this life may throw at us and that will enjoy every moment in between. He brings out the best in me and I couldn’t imagine living this life with anyone else by my side.

Every moment that I spend with Shivani has been great, but if I had to pick one it would be our vacation that we took in May 2019 to Minnesota’s North Shore. Shivani and I decided we wanted to visit Minnesota during waterfall season, and it is a memory that I will forever cherish. We traveled all of Minnesota’s North Shore and into Canada as well. At the end of the day, we visited more than 10 different waterfalls across the shore and into Canada. We usually had to hike miles to get to some of the waterfalls and had 2 days to do it all! We did it, and we loved it!
