Matt and Bri met on the dating app, Hinge, in June 2019 while living in San Francisco. They quickly bonded on their self-described craziness watching the Cleveland Browns (Matt) and Ohio State Buckeyes (Bri), and their love of books. Ironically, they learned they lived right around the corner from each other - a whopping 1,000 feet or less! Soon enough they found themselves hanging out multiple times a week, walking Matt's dog Baker, making dinner, and exploring San Francisco's Mission District. Nine months after meeting, COVID-19 turned the world on its head. Matt and Bri decided to quarantine together during the strict lockdowns. Why not use a global pandemic to pressure test a relationship? ;) Thankfully they made the best of the circumstances, enjoying many glasses (bottles?) of wine, cooking new recipes, some at-home swing dance classes, and eventually a 3-month road-trip with Baker across the U.S. After getting back to San Francisco in 2021, they realized they were about ready to move on from the city and start somewhere new, together, with the help of their now-remote jobs. In April 2022 they bought their first home together in Arvada, CO, right by a cute little downtown area called Olde Town. Baker loves his new yard and Colorado four-legged friends, and Matt and Bri are loving the walkability to Olde Town, the proximity to the mountains, and making their first house a home. On July 7, 2023, while on a trip to Chicago, IL that was supposed to be for Matt's birthday, he (somewhat) surprised Bri by proposing by the lake with the gorgeous city view in the background! She said, "Of course!" It was a very special day with so many good friends celebrating a new chapter in their lives! Matt and Bri cannot wait to become husband and wife in October and to celebrate with you all!
