We met at a fundraiser for Ballet Austin. We both had "wing dates" and as it turns out our wing dates knew each other. We ended up talking and instantly connected on the topics of skiing, church and adopted dogs. Brian creatively "scored" Catherine's digits by the end of the night. The next day Catherine accepted Brian's invitation to a dog park that doubles as a bar. We hit it off and the following week had a proper dinner date at Hop Doddy... the rest is history :)
We had a ski trip planned to visit friends in Aspen, Catherine's old stomping grounds. Because Catherine's sister Molly was getting married within a couple months of the trip, Catherine had no idea that Brian was planning to propose. Brian had been in touch with Catherine's best friends and arranged for a photographer to meet them at the top of Aspen Mountain for the ultimate proposal picture. As Brian was preparing to pop the question, Catherine spotted a man with a telephoto lens and mentioned that there was was a "resort photographer" taking photos of us. Brian got nervous, skipped the pleasantries and quickly dropped to one knee before his cover was blown. We got a jaw-dropping photo, tears of joy were everywhere, and friends were ready with a bottle of champagne to celebrate. It was a fairy tale proposal!
