Hiram and Kt first saw each other on a dating app in May of 2017 and agreed to meet at the Farmer’s Market on a beautiful Saturday morning. But things didn’t go quite as planned... In true Kt fashion, she lost her phone in the backseat of an Uber on Friday night and had no way of contacting Hiram until long after the Farmer’s Market had closed for the day. Two months later, Hiram noticed Kt was back on the trusty old dating app and for some crazy reason decided to give it one more shot. And thank goodness he did because they met for their first date on that fateful July day and they’ve never looked back. Fun fact about their first date: Possibly not even 30 minutes in, Kt told Hiram that she desperately wanted a dog. He laughed and said he would NEVER get a dog. 8 months later Kt found Basil and now Hiram can’t imagine his life without his girls.

The proposal was so beautiful and special to us. We had been talking about it for months and Hiram had the ring for a while but was waiting for the right moment. We were gearing up for our annual Thanksgiving trip to Seattle and decided to visit Kt’s dad up in Phillips the weekend before Thanksgiving. When we arrived after the long drive we wanted to stretch our legs so we went for a walk. Long story short, Hiram decided the timing was perfect and he got down on one knee. Neither of us remember what he said because we were crying like babies but I’m willing to bet it was very nice. The ring is a very important part to all of this. Years ago, Kt inherited her mom’s wedding band (thanks Jimi and Michelle!) and always knew she wanted her engagement ring to match the wedding band. Hiram spent a few months helping design the most perfect ring to give to Kt. And it very much is PERFECT.

Hiram and Kt will be exchanging vows at an intimate ceremony with their immediate family on October 10th, 2020. They have postponed the reception until July 10th, 2021.
