In the fall of 2015, Spencer and I were both taking a general education theology course at Liberty University. I sat a few rows behind Spencer and quickly pointed him out to a friend of mine and told her that he was the most attractive guy I’d ever seen. Throughout the entire semester, Spencer and I never said a word to each another. I’m pretty sure he had no idea I even existed. The class eventually ended and I truly thought I'd never see him again...until I happened to find out that Spencer lived on the same hall as my friend Nathan. Nathan was dating my friend Whitney and I {half} jokingly told Whitney that Nathan should somehow tell Spencer about me. Sure enough, Nathan showed Spencer a photo of me and asked if he was interested. Long story short, on February 22, 2016, Spencer and I went on a blind // double date {with Whitney and Nathan} and have been together ever since.
It had been my lifelong dream to get engaged at Disney World. So, when we started planning a trip to Disney with our friends Tyler and Sabrina, the timing worked out perfectly for Spencer to pull off what I think was the best proposal in the entire world. Our first day at the parks, we met up with my parents {which I thought was weird} and all walked into the Magic Kingdom together. As we were walking down Main Street, everyone kept trying to stop and have one of Disney’s professional photographers take some photos of us. This made no sense to me because I didn’t think we’d actually want to BUY any of the pictures, but I eventually gave in and we stopped to have one of the pros snap some photos of us in front of the castle. After taking a couple of “normal” shots, Spencer turned to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Strangers were clapping, music was playing, and I got to say “yes” to the love of my life in the most magical place on earth.
