Taco Bell dumpster... It was our freshman year at UWL and coincidentally, Tyler and I had decided to go out to house parties with our friends. At some point during the night, my girlfriends and I needed to use the bathroom. We came to the conclusion that Taco Bell's bathroom sounded cleaner than a college party house. After cramming into a tiny one stall bathroom, we all emerged, ready to go to more parties. But out of the apple of my eye...I mean corner of my eye, I saw a guy... sitting on top of a dumpster! Intrigued, I walked over and as I got closer, I noticed how attractive this guy was. I had never seen him before, but I was feeling confident. I walked straight up to him and said, "Hey, what are you doing sitting on a dumpster?" And Tyler said, "I am waiting for my friend, Andy to meet up with me." Normally, I would have said something like, "Ok, have a good night!" But I knew there was something special about him. So instead, I responded saying, "No you're not! You're coming with us." To my surprise, he jumped down off the dumpster and started walking with me to the next party. We spent all night together and the rest is history! We have been together, ever since that infamous night on the Taco bell dumpster and I can't imagine life without him. I love you so much, Tyler! And I cannot wait to marry you!!
During the heat of the pandemic, life was anything but normal, especially in Boston. We desperately needed to get out of the city for some fresh air. So we booked a trip with our friends to a cabin in New Hampshire. It was wonderful to spend much needed time with friends, drink good beer, explore the local towns, and go hiking in the White Mountains. It was a great week, blissfully unaware it was about to be one of the best weeks of my life. On July 9th, 2020, we all woke up, made breakfast, and got ready to hike up Mt. Pemigewasset. The hike itself was quite the workout... in 90 degree heat with 10000% humidity (true story), walking up steep slopes and slippery rocks. But wow, was it worth it! The views from the peak were panoramic and breathtaking. I am completely fearless of heights, so I was running around, taking in all the angles the 2,557ft mountaintop had to offer. Eventually, I meandered out onto the furthest ledge of the mountain and called over to Tyler, "Hey, come check this out, it's beautiful!" Cautiously, Tyler came down onto the ledge and we took some pictures. I turned to grab the phone from our friend and when I turned back around, Tyler was down on one knee! I was in complete shock! Here, in front of me, was the love of my life, asking me to marry him. And I SAID YES!! With his hands shaking (nervously making sure not to drop the ring off the mountain and rushing with excitement from the proposal), he put the most gorgeous ring on my finger. It was absolutely perfect and truly the best decision I have ever made. I cannot wait to be your wife and continue to adventure this life and world together.
