Panther Den Wilderness
One of our favorite hikes. Explore the paths Jesse distracted Krystyna with as the family set up all the details for the proposal back at Buma and Opa's house. Moss, mushrooms, and large rock formations all promised on this short hike that can be completed before enjoying wine at Feather Hill and Blue Sky wineries next door.
Shawnee Hills Wine Trail
Southern Illinois is known for its scenic wineries! Our favorites include Feather Hill, Blue Sky, Starview, and Owl Creek. The day after our engagement a train got stuck on the tracks locking us at Owl Creek for several hours. It was a dream come true.
Ferne Clyffe State Park
Just down the road from Lake of Egypt this state park is filled with endless trails for all hiking abilities. Send us a text and we'll help you choose the right route for you:)
Little Grand Canyon
Moderate to difficult gorgeous hike for our adventurous friends. We have gotten lost here, but we also saw an armadillo. Great day.
Kinkaid Lake
With competitive fishing relatives on each side of the family we invite you to battle it out to catch a musky at Kinkaid lake! With no housing developments around this massive lake fishing and pontoon partying flourish. If anyone dares you to jump off the cliff (even your 64 year old dad, who is also doing it) do not, for risk of leg bruises that last 8 months. We speak from experience.
Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour
Enjoy zip lining through the Shawnee National Forest! The 3 hour experience is incredible and has you high up among the trees and bluffs just down the road from Blue Sky Vineyard.
Mack's Lake of Egypt Marina Pontoon Rentals
Enjoy a day on Lake of Egypt, our home away from home by renting a pontoon boat from Mack's for a day. Great lake for fishing, swimming, and laying out.

17th Street Barbecue
Visit the original location in Murphysboro (employer of Krystyna's sister Stephanie throughout her college years). Voted best barbecue in Illinois many times over. They will also be catering the wedding, so visit if you want their delicious pulled pork multiple times in one weekend.
Scratch Brewing Company
Our favorite beer in Southern Illinois. Foraged ingredients straight from the property, wood fired pizzas, and sourdough all taste especially magical at this woodland brewery that twinkles under string lights and fireflies on summer nights.
