Jeremy and I meet on the online dating site, Ok Cupid. We actually messaged back and forth for a while before going on our first date on May 5th, to Bocci in Durham, NC. He offered to pick me up, and I politely declined- I mean who needs a stranger you may never see again to know your address?! We met, and talked for quite literally hours at table outside. The waiters must have hated us, because it was certainly after hours when we finally realized that they were closed. The rest, as we say, is history!
As you may or may not already know, Jeremy has 2 adorable cats- Leah and Jilly. It was because of them that in the early stages of dating, we spent more time at his place than mine. The first time I went to his house, a few weeks after our first date, I got to meet them. .... Well, I would have- IF they would have came out from hiding the whole time I was there. Jilly (who I know now is slightly obsessed with her human) refused to even look at me that first night. Instead, she sat in the room, with her back to us. Leah, on the other hand didn't even come in the room until I left. But when I did leave, Jer told me she promptly went straight to the spot I sat on, and rolled all over it to get my smell off!! It took a while for the girls to warm up to me, but comfy blankets, and an extra lap proved all that was needed to win them over!
I suppose it's a good thing I [mostly] enjoy sports; and that I had no true allegiance to a football team prior to meeting Jeremy. If you didn't know, Jeremy is from Wisconsin, therefore he is a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan. A real live cheese head! So in our four plus years together, we have watched any live game we can get. For every game, he always wears his Aaron Rodgers jersey, and I have a Packers Bow I bought our first year together that's now deemed "lucky" and MUST be worn EVERY game. So yes, even when we attended a game on Christmas Eve 2016 in Wisconsin (yes, it was cold) I had that bow attached to my Packers Santa hat. :)
Our first Christmas together we accidentally got each other a coffee cup for the other, without talking about it! I got him a Packers mug; he got me a teacher mug. We thought it was so funny that we each got a cup for each other, that it has become our very first Christmas tradition. Every year, we get each other a 15 ounce coffee cup (because yes, it needs to be that big) that reflects some show we've watched, joke we love, or other preference.
