On September 17, 2021, Arnold sent me a DM through Twitter (X), however, it took me a month and 4 days to respond to him. During that month and 4 days he continued to send me messages, and what made me finally respond to him was the fact that he would refer to me by my name and not just give me compliments. When I finally responded, all I said was "Hello Arnold", "How are you doing?" That conversation got us started and we eventually exchanged phone numbers. Once we did, in the beginning we would stay on the phone talking until 4am, (like we didn't have to get up for work the next day). Our first date was on October 26, 2021, we met at Trinity Groves to eat at Babb's Brothers BBQ and then we walked around to the Art Park and sat and watched the Mavs game while we talked and got to know each other a little more. During that date Arnold asked me to go away with him in December of that same year and then at the end he asked me out on a second date. Fast forward after trips for his Masonic Lodge and vacations on October 3, 2023 I am diagnosed with Stage 2b Triple Positive Breast Cancer. Arnold has been there every step of the way taking care of me and our home while I worked and went through, surgeries, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, radiation, and adjuvant therapy. He has had enough Faith for the both of us as we went through and he watched all the changes that I experienced. Right before I was diagnosed we planned a vacation for this past November and he asked if I wanted to cancel the vacation once we found out. I told him no, I planned to be on that ship regardless. May 9, 2024 we received the news that I was Cancer Free and that I no longer had any signs of Breast Cancer. Of course this was a momentous occasion, but we never celebrated that moment so once our vacation came in November, it was a chance to celebrate my 49th birthday and my opportunity to enjoy how far I had come. I didn't know that the he also planned to propose as well. Well while we were on an excursion in St. Thomas on November 13, 2024 he expressed his love for me and asked me to be his wife. Needless to say I was in total shock initially, but I ultimately said yes. Here we are today ready to say I Do on May 9, 2025.....My 1 year Cancerversary. This is the reason we chose that day, and we look forward to celebrating both moments for years to come. We want to say thank you for joining us as we become one. God has definitely given us both a 2nd chance at Love.
