The Love We Prayed For

Our Story, His Plan🙏

We met in a place where stories often begin quietly on Hinge, not with sparks or stolen glances, but with words… gentle, steady, and real. For a month, we spoke without pretense, no rushing, no pretending— just two hearts unfolding, learning the rhythm of each other’s souls. And then, one day, distance became a bridge he was willing to cross. From Nebraska to New York City, he came— and in that first moment, when I saw him, my heart didn’t race… it rested. It was as if my soul whispered, “I know you.” Three days felt like a lifetime woven into something sacred. With every laugh, every silence, we drew closer, not by chance, but by something greater than us. On the second day, with courage soft in his voice, he asked if I would be his and without hesitation, my heart answered before my lips could: yes. Because somehow, I had already known. You see, long before he arrived, I had prayed for a love like this— a man who would feel like home, like peace, like answered prayers wrapped in human form. And then, just three weeks later, under the lights of the same city where it all deepened, on my birthday— he asked me forever. And again, I didn’t want to wait. Because when you know, you don’t measure love by time. From the very first conversation, God had been writing our story— guiding, confirming, steadying us every time doubt tried to whisper otherwise. So we chose faith over fear, purpose over pressure, and love over the timelines of the world. Why wait, when hearts are certain and God has already said yes? And now here we are counting down the days, holding onto the promise that soon, we won’t just say I love you… We’ll say I do. And begin forever— together.
