Lomotey and I met at the end of my freshman year at the world-renowned Tuskegee University. We met through his best friend Jamal. When we first met he was shy, but after he got my number we began to text each other and started the beginnings of a friendship. Maybe a week or two after we started talking we went on our first date to the movies. Over the summer one of my roommates had decided to take some summer classes, so I would go down and visit her as well as my "boo friend" as my bestie Cyndi called him, we weren't official at that time. But, on June 8th 2009, Lomotey asked me to be his "Valentine," his words not mine. So over the following seven years our relationship grew in so many ways. As most know, our relationship has been long distance for the majority of the time we have been together, and that added to the growing pains of our relationship, but through it all we continued to keep God first and our love for each other second. As we continued to grow as individuals and as a couple we knew that we wanted to share our lives with each other, so marriage has been on the table for quite awhile, but time and space was not in our favor. But during my last year of pharmacy school things started to come together and we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. So on August 21, 2016 Lomotey surprised me with a beautiful proposal and engagement party with the help my sister, his sister, his friend/business partner Donovan, and family and friends in Dallas. It was such a beautiful moment that I will never forget and I can't wait to spend forever with my Lomotey as his wife.
